Life Skills Training
Life Skills training is experiential training(learn by doing), much the
same as Martial Arts. It is a multi-dimensional system that facilitates the acquisition of
life long learning skills(critical thinking, problem solving, communication, risk taking,
etc.) which enables the practitioner to function properly in all aspects of life.
It empowers individuals to function appropriately and responsibly in all
life situations and to discover their balance within, it is the western equivalent of
Chinese Confucianism.
The holistic approach is fundamental to the process, integrating
emotions(affective), intellect(cognitive) and behaviour(physical/psychomotor).
Effective change occurs when all three elements are employed in the
process. Following the "The Dragon's Lair" will develop or
enhance many abilities you may already possess, after all survival may be the
greatest "Life Skill" of them all.
Balance
It is the nature of the universe to reach equilibrium or find its balance. Nature, in
fact, will always even the odds. Her creatures evolve, adapt and multiply living in
harmony with her laws.
Man, on the other hand does not. He has plagued her beauty with atrocities beyond
imagination and yet she flourishes, ever-changing .The fine line of balance fluctuating,
like the tides of her oceans.
Take a closer look at nature and learn from her wisdom. Seek harmony with yourself and
the universe.
Unless man obliterates the planet there will always be prey and predator; hot and cold;
wet and dry; wind and calm; Yin and Yang, equilibrium.
The principle of Yin/Yang is also known as the unifying principle because it states
that antagonistic forces compliment and unify each other. Look at the relationship between
Man and Woman. Although they are different in many ways they depend upon each other for
continued existence. Together they form a unity acquiring aspects of each other.
Self-knowledge is the key factor.
Understanding our own needs, having focus, and setting goals all while
living a healthy and fit lifestyle
That's a good way to start!
